Tim graduated with honors from the Syracuse University College of Law, where he concentrated on Constitutional law and civil rights. Tim holds a bachelor’s degree in Forestry from Colorado State University.
Prior to joining Nathan Dumm & Mayer, Tim had a career in Law Enforcement. During this time, he served in both patrol and investigations capacities. Tim was a SWAT Operator and Sniper, a use of force instructor, a less lethal munitions instructor, taught arrest control both in his department and at the Pikes Peak Regional Law Enforcement Academy. Tim worked with the Colorado Association of Chiefs of Police legislative committee as a subject matter expert. Tim also served as the Chairman of the Colorado ABLE Committee. The ABLE project brings nationally recognized Active Bystandership for Law Enforcement techniques, providing officers with tools to prevent or reduce harms to communities by improving police services.
Tim retired from his position as the Professional Standards Commander overseeing Internal Affairs, hiring, training, and policy for his department, to join Nathan Dumm & Mayer.
Tim’s practice focuses on representing governmental entities in a wide range of litigation matters, including civil rights lawsuits, employment-related claims, and insurance defense litigation.
In addition to his work with Nathan Dumm & Mayer, Tim is a consummate outdoorsman. He enjoys hunting, fishing, backpacking, climbing, scuba diving, and many other outdoor pursuits. He spends his weekends in the Colorado high country enjoying all our state has to offer.
